sGPSgold™ application was developed in order to provide a fully functional GPS based speedometer, speed and location tracker for iPhone platform.

The main interface features an elegant speedometer with gold and titanium theme. The analog speedometer features:

Digital speed and trip meter displays,
A compass rose ring,
An information section that displays maximum, average, moving average, and current location information,
Eight buttons allow:
Entry into the location tracking mode,
Opening the settings page,
Changing the analog display scale,
Selecting magnetic, true, and track for compass ring,
Zeroing the trip meter,
Reviewing locally saved speed and location tracking data,
Providing short help descriptions for various controls and indicators, and

This application also features a speed and location tracking mode. This mode allows the application to constantly store and display the location track on a map interface, and the speed data on a line graph. Controls supplied with the tracking mode include:

Graph button to show, superimpose, or hide the speed graph,
A tracking Start/Stop button,
A Save button to save the tracked data locally,
A Clear button to clear the data.

NOTE: In location tracking mode, it is necessary for the application to maintain the location services (GPS data) in background mode. This will make it possible for the application to cache the location data even if the application is in background, or if the device is in standby mode. So, it is possible to start the location tracking, and then place the device in standby mode, and the application will properly record device locations. However, Continued use of GPS running in the background can dramatically decrease battery life.
